Mavin Records founder Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has stated that he has never accepted payment from artistes or filmmakers in exchange for promoting their projects, dismissing claims that his endorsements are financially motivated

The 43-year-old music executive made the clarification after a comment surfaced on social media questioning his intentions.

The conversation began after Don Jazzy shared a comedy skit on Tuesday featuring Nollywood actor Itele, who jokingly tied him up and “forced” him to promote the upcoming movie Black Market.

The humorous video attracted reactions from fans, with an X user, Oba Tai Oshomo, suggesting that the music producer must have been paid to support the film.

Responding to the claim, Don Jazzy firmly denied ever charging anyone in the entertainment industry for promotional support.

Don Jazzy replied: “Nobody in the entertainment space has ever paid me a dime for promo oo. You think say I be Don for mouth. The Don’s blessings na free bro.”

However, his response has since generated praise from many fans, with several commending him for using his influence to support creatives without expecting financial rewards in return.

Don Jazzy has long been recognised for encouraging and promoting talents across Nigeria’s entertainment industry, often using his social media platforms to amplify music, films and other creative projects.
