Controversial Nigerian street-pop singer Portable has sparked conversation after questioning the source of the huge amounts of money allegedly kept by some musicians.

The outspoken artiste claimed that it was difficult for him to believe that a musician could have as much as ₦500 million sitting in a bank account.
He went on to suggest that some entertainers may be involved in businesses beyond music.

He said: “It’s not possible for a musician to have ₦500M in his account.
He added: “Most of these musicians are into money laundering and cartel businesses.

However, The 32-year-old artiste has repeatedly spoken publicly about money and wealth.
In a recent response to an EFCC invitation over alleged naira abuse, the singer denied being involved in fraud or money laundering, insisting that he earns his money through music and his performances.
