Nollywood actress Anita Joseph’s ex-husband, MC Fish, has addressed the controversy surrounding his recent comments about their ongoing divorce proceedings, insisting that his remarks were not intended as a threat.
MC Fish and his current girlfriend, Gbemso, issued a joint statement on Instagram following reports that the entertainer had accused his former wife of frustrating the divorce process.
In his earlier remarks, MC Fish had reportedly urged Anita to provide a CTC (Certified True Copy) of their marriage certificate so he could officially move on with his life.

Clarifying his choice of words, MC Fish explained that his reference to wanting to “erase” Anita from his life was about bringing their marriage to a legal conclusion and not about causing her any harm.
He said he had repeatedly requested a copy of the marriage certificate to enable the divorce process to move forward, but claimed that the phone number listed on a cease-and-desist letter sent to him was not functional.

The music executive also questioned why he should be required to pay additional and expensive fees to obtain a document that already exists and, according to him, is currently in Anita’s possession.
He maintained that his priority is to complete the legal process and move forward, rather than continue the matter publicly on social media.
Meanwhile, Gbemso also defended their relationship amid comments from social media users. She denied claims that she was responsible for the breakdown of MC Fish’s marriage to Anita, insisting that she met him when he was already single and that their relationship began afterwards.
She further explained that both she and MC Fish had previously been involved with people who did not fully appreciate them, but said they eventually found each other and built a relationship that she described as beautiful.
