
Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe, has dismissed the rumor about being a homosexual, addressing it with a blend of surprise and humour.
In a recent interview, Uzor recounted how he first heard the rumour that he was gay, admitting that the claim caught him completely off guard.
eelive.ng reports that the actor also declared his love and support for gay people noting that he has nothing against them or their sexuality.
According to the actor, he was shocked to the bones, but was excited when he was rumored to be gay, adding that he felt had blown.

If I was truly gay, I would have owned it
He said: “That I was gay and that shocked me to my bones. I was excited too, because I heard when they start saying those things, you have blown.
When the interviewer asked how he knew his friends were gay, he responded saying : “They are my people, my guys, so i know. I know their sexuality. If I was truly gay, I would have owned it”
The 41-year-old also used the moment to reflect on the broader implications and found a silver lining in the attention it brought.
Despite the speculation, Uzor maintained his support for the LGBTQ+ community, making it clear he holds no prejudice.
“I have nothing against them. But, I am not going to agree to something I am not just because to some people they are certain kind of people.
For me, let God Judge, so that’s why I wasnt going to say anything about the rumor.
But if it is truly my sexuality, I’d own it and i would have been one of the hottest around,’’ he added.
He noted that the person that was rumored to be his boyfriend was the shocking part.
“I was shocked and the person they said was my boyfriend was the shocking part”, he added.
Reacting a concerned fan wrote: “Hmm, Odogwu doesn’t know Nigerians, one wrong move and they’ll change it for him.
”As a hot star, he has to be careful with what he says out there.”
Another user commented: ‘‘Where’s his manager?” as a fan wrote: “Odogwu don fuck up,I already know how this would end.”
Uzor gained wider admiration after his portrayal of Odogwu in the film Love in Every Word, released on March 7, 2025.
