Popular Nollywood actress and businesswoman Sarah Martins has been admitted to the hospital after suffering from extreme exhaustion.
In an emotional post shared on her Instagram, the actress recounted the terrifying moment she woke up completely numb. “Woke up today and couldn’t feel any part of my body… For a second I felt lifeless,” she wrote.
Reminiscing on how she gave herself no break in December, she wrote; “All through December, I worked every single day and even when my staffs traveled for season celebration, I still kept working. No days off, no stretches no nothing… just a walking corps working tirelessly to cater for others forgetting myself.”
The actress ran more than 32 diagnostic tests including cancer, fibroids, liver dysfunction, kidney problems, malaria, typhoid, and several others but all results came back negative. After a clear diagnosis which owns extreme exhaustion, she noted that an immediate and proper bed rest was really needed.
From her hospital bed, Martins expressed deep gratitude to God for safeguarding her vital organs despite her neglect of self-care. “I guess God took proper care of my organs while I neglected my body… Thank you Heavenly Father for your constant protection over my life,” she wrote. She also tied her resilience to her ongoing mission: “I will be fine because the God that protects the vulnerable kids I struggle for will never fail me.”
Many have urged her to prioritize rest and set boundaries in her demanding career as an actress and entrepreneur.
