The legal representatives of Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, have petitioned the Lagos State Police Command over an alleged attempt by police officers to arrest the musician.
Odumodublvck, was reportedly approached by police officers in the early hours of Saturday, 29 August 2026, following a performance at a Lagos nightclub.
A video of the incident later surfaced online, showing the rapper engaged in a heated exchange with one of the officers.
In the petition addressed to the Assistant Commissioner of Police at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Lagos State Police Command, Odumodublvck’s legal team expressed concern over the incident. The petition was made public on Monday.
According to the lawyers, the officers allegedly approached their client at about 3:00 a.m. with an invitation letter said to have been issued by the police command.

The legal team has now called for an urgent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged attempt to arrest the rapper.
The lawyers also maintained that they had previously responded to the police invitation on behalf of their client.
They argued that there was no reason for a separate investigation to continue while the matter was already before a court.
They further urged the Lagos State Police Command to step back from the matter and allow the appropriate authorities at the office of the Inspector-General of Police to handle the ongoing case.
Meanwhile, Odumodublvck addressed the officers during the confrontation, insisting that he was not resisting arrest but questioning the legality of the attempted arrest.
He said: “You don’t have the jurisdiction; you came to my house. Don’t tell me to wait. You told my estate people to tell me to come, and I told my lawyers, and they attended to it. I am not resisting an arrest. My lawyers attended to it.”
He also claimed that there was a court motion preventing his arrest at the time.
He added:“I am not resisting an arrest. There is a motion ex parte that says you cannot arrest me. Why should I follow you? It is illegal.”

The circumstances surrounding the attempted arrest remain unclear, while the Lagos State Police Command had not publicly responded to the allegations contained in the petition at the time of reporting.
