Offset Detained by Police After Gun Report

American rapper Offset was allegedly detained by police at The Grove shopping center in Los Angeles last night, TMZ reports.

The police detained the rapper, real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus, after the LA Police Department received a report of a person with a gun inside The Grove’s multi-story parking lot.

That armed individual apparently fled the scene, and the police took Offset and three members of his entourage to the police station for further questioning. However, the police have not made any arrest yet.

It is unclear whether the rapper and the three other individuals actually took part in the incident. It’s also unclear whether Offset or anyone in his entourage had a weapon. But TMZ reports that authorities recovered two guns.

In a video recorded by an onlooker, an LA police handcuff and detain Offset. He argued continually that he had nothing wrong.

“I didn’t break the law, man!” Offset shouted. “If you gonna arrest me, I ain’t gonna resist if you tell me. You gotta tell me now. You gotta tell me now. That’s your job as an officer.”
