Nigerian comedian and content creator Carter Efe has stirred reactions on social media after claiming he graduated from Babcock University with what he described as a “first-class upper” degree.

The skit maker made the claim amid the ongoing conversations surrounding the viral “Olodo Uprising” debate, which gained momentum after rapper Ycee criticised what he described as the growing celebration of ignorance online.

Joining the discussion, Carter Efe took to social media to insist that he was academically accomplished.

According to him, he not only graduated with a first-class degree but also emerged as the overall best graduating student in his set.

Carter Efe wrote:“I went to Babcock University. I study Bio chemistry. I came out with first class upper Best student in my set.”

His claims, however, were met with scepticism by many social media users, with several questioning the authenticity of his statement and pointing out that the phrase “first-class upper” is not a recognised university degree classification.

As doubts continued to grow, Carter Efe shared a photograph of what he claimed was his university certificate in an apparent attempt to back up his claims and convince critics.
