
The Nigerian Police Command, Ogun State has arrested one suspect in connection with the death of Fuji singer Destiny Boy.
As earlier reported by eelive.ng, the young singer passed away on Sunday after reportedly falling seriously ill. Videos that later surfaced online showed Destiny Boy lying unresponsive in the backseat of a car while he was being transported, allegedly to a mortuary.
The cause of his death was not officially confirmed, but many rumors suggested he died in a herbalist’s house after taking part in money rituals. His mother, Saidat Adeshina, strongly denied these claims.

According to the deceased singer’s mother, he died after battling a severe medical condition. She added that he had been battling with seizures for the past two years.
Speaking in a statement shared on its X page on Monday, the state police command confirmed that it has commenced an investigation into the singer’s death and has taken one suspect into custody.
According to the police, the case has been transferred to the state criminal investigation department (SCID), homicide section, for further investigation.
“The Ogun State Police Command has since commenced investigations into the death of Adesina Afeez, aged 22 years, popularly known as Destiny Boy,” the statement reads.

“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Homicide Section, for detailed investigation. One suspect is currently in custody while investigations are ongoing.”
