Afrobeats global sensation Davido has thrown his full weight behind the re-election bid of his uncle, Osun State Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke, announcing a two-month break from music to mobilize support for the August 15, 2026 governorship election.

Governor Adeleke, who recently switched to the Accord Party, welcomed the move, describing his re-election as “unstoppable.” Davido’s involvement is seen as a major boost, leveraging his massive youth following and influence, which proved decisive in the 2022 election.

The development has generated widespread buzz on social media, with many praising the family bond and celebrity activism in politics.
