Afrobeats global sensation Davido has thrown his full weight behind the re-election bid of his uncle, Osun State Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke, announcing a two-month break from music to mobilize support for the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
The Grammy-nominated artist officially inaugurated the Imole Youth Mobilization Campaign Council, a 43-man committee tasked with driving youth engagement for the Accord Party flag-bearer. Davido also received his party membership card, formalizing his role as Head of Youth Mobilisation.
“I have put my musical career on hold for two months to come and work for my uncle. Not only because he is my uncle, but because he is doing a good job and still has more to accomplish,” Davido declared at the event.
