Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Toyin Abraham, has achieved a major milestone with her latest movie, Oversabi Aunty, becoming her highest-grossing film yet.
Released on December 19, 2025, the comedy-drama has raked in an impressive ₦863 million, making it the second highest grossing Nigerian film of 2025 and the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood movie of all time.
In a celebratory post on Instagram, Toyin proudly wrote, “Firstly, thank you Lord. Thank you Toyintitans (love you all with everything). And to everyone supporting me, thank you from the deepest part of my heart.
“Honestly I don’t know if I am dreaming or awake, is this real? Dreams truly do come through. The journey has been emotional, overwhelming and beautiful,” she added.
The movie follows Toun, a self-righteous church usher obsessed with correcting others, whose meddling culminates in chaos at a wedding introduction. Forced to face the consequences of her actions, the story blends humor and life lessons.
Oversabi Aunty features an ensemble cast including Mike Ezuruonye, Ngozi Ezeonu, Toyin Afolayan, Queen Nwokoye, and Enioluwa Adeoluwa.
This success comes shortly after Funke Akindele’s historic box office run with films like Behind the Scenes and A Tribe Called Judah, both surpassing ₦1 billion. Toyin Abraham’s latest feat reaffirms her place among Nollywood’s box office powerhouses.
