Her recent crowning achievement came at the 17th Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards on December 14, 2025, in Lagos, where she won Best Actress in a Leading Role for her powerful performance in Blackout. This win, alongside her co-star Gideon Okeke’s Best Actor award for the same film, marked a triumphant step in her career, affirming her status as a seasoned actress.

Padita Agu who studied Creative Arts at the University of Lagos before transferring to the University of Abuja where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts, attended the New York Film Academy’s Hollywood branch twice, completing courses in Acting for Film and Filmmaking which equipped her in both performance and production.

Padita’s entry into Nollywood began with a minor role as a nurse in Formidable Force. However, her true breakthrough arrived with the 2003 epic horror-drama Egg of Life which was directed by Andy Amenechi. She played the role of Nkem, one of the brave maidens sent into an evil forest to retrieve a mystical egg to save the king’s ailing son.

Following this, Padita featured in numerous films, often in supporting roles and her notable works include: Champagne (2014), The Last 3 Digits (2015) which launched her back to acting after taking a break, Being Annabel (2019), The Marriage Fixer (2022) and Blackout (2025) which earned her BON award.
