A photo of lawmaker representing Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Desmond Elliot, kneeling before the Chief of Staff to President Tinubu, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has surfaced on social media.

The photos captured the Nollyood actor cum politician meeting with Gbajabiamila to seek forgiveness and reintegration following his defeat in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election a couple of months ago.

Elliot, via his Instagram page, disclosed that he appreciates his ‘godfather’ and ‘mentor for remaining unwavering in his support despite his shortcomings

Speaking further, the Lagos lawmaker said he was misguided during the last APC primaries, accepted the verdict of the people of Surulere, and pledged to renew his loyalty to the GAC leadership in Lagos.

Sharing the photos, he wrote: “Hon. Desmond Olusola Elliott wishes to sincerely express my heartfelt appreciation to my political father, mentor, and leader, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, for his unwavering guidance, support, and investment in my political journey over the years.

“My respect and loyalty to Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila remain unwavering.

“Everything I have achieved politically is all for Surulerians .Thanks for the love and for always believing in me. Therefore, I want to state publicly that no political ambition or temporary disagreement is worth damaging a relationship built on years of trust, guidance, and shared commitment to the progress of our party and our people.

“I appeal for understanding and unity as we continue to work together for the growth of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the development of Surulere, and the advancement of Lagos State and Nigeria.

It would be recalled the Nollywood veteran-turned-politician recently failed to secure the APC ticket for Surulere Constituency I ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The three-term lawmaker lost the party’s primary election to Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, who polled an overwhelming majority of votes in the contest.
