Big Brother Naija winner Phyna has responded to the Dangote Group’s statement regarding the accident involving her sister, which resulted in the amputation of one of her legs.
The company had issued a statement promising to cover her sister’s medical expenses and offer “appropriate compensation” while wishing her a speedy recovery.
The company wrote: “Dangote Cement Plc has addressed the recent road accident in Auchi, Edo State, which involved one of its trucks and left Mrs. Ruth Otabor, sister of reality TV star Phyna, seriously injured. The company stated that senior officials, alongside its insurance team, visited the accident site, met with law enforcement, and checked on the victim and her family at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital.

“The management confirmed that Mrs. Otabor will receive full medical care and compensation in line with the company’s welfare policy. Dangote Cement also expressed concern for her condition and extended wishes for her recovery.”
However, Phyna took to social media to express her outrage, questioning the company’s sincerity. “Appropriate compensation? Quick recovery from an already amputated leg? What necessary speed are you taking right now? Let’s not forget the bike man, who is also in critical condition,” she wrote.
Phyna’s sister, Ruth, was involved in a tragic accident with a Dangote truck in Auchi, Edo State, just six days after graduating from Auchi Polytechnic. The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for justice and accountability from the Dangote Group.
