Reality TV star and former Big Brother Naija winner Josephine Otabor, a.k.a Phyna has retracted her earlier accusation that some men who apprehended her cameraman were kidnappers, admitting that they were actually police officers carrying out their official duties.
The clarification came after a video she initially shared online sparked heavy reactions and concern across social media.

In a new statement posted on her social media page, Phyna explained that she later discovered the officers had searched her cameraman’s bag and allegedly found a crusher inside it.
She also claimed that a partly smoked substance suspected to be cannabis was reportedly recovered from his pocket during the search.
According to her, the discovery led to his arrest by the police.
Phyna stated that after getting more details about the situation, she realised she had misunderstood what happened and acknowledged that it was wrong to describe the officers as kidnappers.

She said: “The group of men who I initially called kidnappers are actually Nigerian police force and they arrested my cameraman because he was in the possession of weed.”
She apologised for the earlier claim and urged the public to disregard her previous statement, noting that the matter has now been resolved.
