Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has called for the suspension of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) postings to states with high insecurity levels.

In a tweet, he wrote: “Please it’s high time we suspend the posting of our youths to different states other than where they are based. All this it all started off as a brilliant idea but now with the state of our country it’s not sustainable. Please pity the parents, kids are dying. Move with the times.”

Odumodublvck’s statement comes after a core member questioned NYSC’s decision to post him to Kebi state despite the recent insecurity issues in the area. The member’s concerns were amplified by the recent kidnapping incident in Kebbi State and the abduction of church members in Kwara State, which resulted in some fatalities.

The rapper’s plea highlights the growing concerns about the safety of NYSC members and the need for the organization to reassess its posting policies. His words gives the NYSC a new idea of avoiding states plagued with insecurity rather post the corp members to save states or where they are currently based.
