Adeshina built a dedicated career in the indigenous Yoruba film sector, spanning over two decades of consistent screen appearances. He was widely recognised for portraying traditional titleholders, community elders, and cultural figures, earning a reputation for delivering authentic dialogue and a distinct dramatic presence.

He was also widely known for portraying traditional title holders and herbalists, and for promoting traditional worship in his movies.

The name Elegbeje Ado stuck with him from a 1991 movie he starred in as the lead character of the same name, when Nollywood was beginning to rise to what it is today.

Also renowned for acting in very sombre, sometimes sad roles that require tears, with many comparing him to another Nollywood veteran, Olatunbosun Odunsi.

He was widely known for his roles in Ageku Abela and Oko Abiku, movies he acted in after his initial breakthrough with the Elegbeje Ado movie. He was 66 at the time of his death.

Outside his commitments in Nollywood, Elegbeje Ado (Taiwo Adeshina) was a Pastor and transitioned fully into Ministry in 2016, before making a brief return in 2025 to produce Christian Movies.

While industry colleagues and fans have begun sharing tributes to honour his impact, specific details regarding his age and final funeral arrangements have not yet been officially released by his family.
