Nigerian street-hop singer, Portable, has sparked controversy once again, this time for publicly calling out superstar rapper and YBNL boss, Olamide.
In a recent outburst, Portable accused Olamide of neglecting him after their hit collaboration “Zazoo Zehh,” claiming he was not signed to YBNL as expected, excluded from the official music video shoot, and most recently, left out of Olamide’s sold out OVO Wembley Arena performance in London on November 24.

According to Portable, the snub stung deeper because of the support he received from UK rapper Skepta, who not only collaborated with him but also showered him with gifts and hospitality during his recent London trip. Portable used this contrast to highlight what he perceived as Olamide’s lack of follow through after initially boosting his rise to fame.

However, fans and industry figures were quick to react, with music executive and influencer Tunde Ednut openly criticizing Portable’s statements. Ednut labeled the singer ungrateful, reminding the public of how Olamide has played a pivotal role in launching the careers of several top Afrobeats acts like Fireboy DML, Asake, and Adekunle Gold often without demanding public credit or engaging in drama.

While Olamide has yet to publicly respond, the incident has sparked broader conversations in the music industry about artist gratitude, mentorship expectations, and the fine line between recognition and entitlement.
