Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mary Remmy Njoku has stirred conversations on social media after sharing a thought-provoking message about the relationship between prayer and practical action.

In a post shared on her Instagram page, the actress stressed that while spiritual problems require spiritual solutions, physical challenges must also be tackled with physical efforts.

Njoku noted that people cannot simply “pray food onto their plates,” explaining that food still has to be planted, harvested, transported, and prepared through human effort and hard work.

She further stated that issues such as bad roads, poor healthcare, insecurity, education, and economic struggles cannot disappear through prayers alone without accountability, planning, and decisive action.

Faith and action are not enemies. They work together,” the actress wrote, while urging Christians not to confuse prayer with practical responsibility.

Njoku also pointed out that prayers can provide wisdom, guidance, and strength, but insisted that real societal progress requires people to take action and work towards solutions.

Her comments quickly drew mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians agreeing with her stance on balancing faith with responsibility, while others debated the role of prayer in national development.
