Nigerian singer Ruger has reacted to a video of a netizen wishing him death after his post about making a song for the lesbian community surfaced on social media.
In the video, the unidentified woman, who expressed displeasure over the singer’s lyrics, said Ruger’s death would improve her mental health.
Reacting to the video, Ruger, via the microblogging platform X formerly Twitter on Tuesday, said he believed he deserved a “pass” for his response to the woman’s comment.
However, the singer proceeded to mock her appearance and weight, saying she was “worried about the wrong thing.”

He also advised her to be more concerned about her eating habits.
Ruger wrote: “I think I get a pass for her wishing me dead. So apologies to the feminists and body positivity activists, but this girl is worried about the wrong thing. She should be worried about her high intake of Okpa; she’s on the verge of getting a triple chin.”
Ruger, whose real name is Michael Adebayo Olayinka, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter known for his Afro-dancehall sound. He rose to prominence in 2021 following the release of his hit single ‘Ruger’ and has since established himself as one of the prominent voices in Afrobeats.
