Veteran Nollywood actress Faithia Williams also known as Fathia Balogun is currently mourning the heartbreaking loss of her beloved mother, who passed away unexpectedly on the eve of the actress’s 55th birthday celebration.
In an emotional post shared on her Instagram, Williams revealed that her birthday fell on Thursday, February 5, but she opted to host her party on Sunday instead.
Tragically, her mother had died on Saturday evening, the eve of the party and her family made the difficult decision to withhold the devastating news until after the celebration concluded, to avoid spoiling her special day.
“The reality of her passing has not totally dawned on me,” Williams wrote, describing her late mother as her “cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend, and gist partner wrapped in the invaluable gift of a mother.” She expressed deep gratitude for the solace she has found in Allah during this painful time.

The Williams family has chosen to keep matters very private for now, with burial details to be announced at a later date. The actress appealed for love, prayers, and understanding from the public and her colleagues as she and her siblings navigate through the moment
