Santi Flexes His Creative Juice On GoldLink’s “U Say” Music Video
Counting down to the release of his sophomore album titled “Diaspora”, GoldLink continues to flaunt the West African talent on the tape, first dropping the Maleek Berry-assisted “Zulu Screams”, before enlisting Juls for the production of the third single, “U Say”.
He features Nigerian-American rapper, Tyler, The Creator, alongside Jay Prince. The song has now gotten even more Nigerian love, as GoldLink enlists Santi to direct the music video for the “Diaspora” standout.
From Odunsi’s unforgettable “Alté Cruise” clip to his own eerie forthcoming “Raw Dinner” music video, Santi — under the ‘Candles’ banner — has been churning out memorable music videos for quite some time now.
So, while him taking the director’s seat doesn’t come as much of a surprise, it is an incredible career milestone for the multifaceted musician, as he now boasts a Santi flick featuring not one, but two Grammy-nominated artists.
With GoldLink previously collaborating with our Nigerian star on the Mandy & The Jungle standout, “Maria”, it is clear, and fantastic to see, that Santi’s many skills as a creative are being recognised and appreciated all over the world.
As many artistically inclined individuals have noted, creative exploits tend to be more difficult to achieve in Nigeria than in the UK or America. So, with a bigger budget, better equipment and improved technology, we are excited to see what Santi cooks up.
