Sean “Diddy” Combs’ prison release date has been moved up again, with the new date set for April 15, 2028, a decade earlier than initially expected.

This marks the latest change in a sentence that has shifted several times in recent months.

Combs, 56, is serving a 50-month federal sentence after being convicted in 2025 on two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution.

The music mogul was acquitted of more serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, which could have resulted in life imprisonment. Combs has maintained his innocence regarding broader allegations tied to the case and is currently appealing the conviction.

Before sentencing, Combs expressed remorse in court, saying, “My actions were disgusting, shameful and sick.” His legal team continues to challenge the conviction, arguing the case involved consensual relationships and criticising the sentence length. Prosecutors maintain Combs engaged in coercive behaviour and should remain incarcerated.

Combs is currently housed at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey, reportedly participating in a drug rehabilitation program that may further reduce his sentence. An appeal hearing is scheduled for April 9, which could significantly affect his release timeline or the validity of the conviction itself.
