Selena Gomez Shows Off her Kidney Transplant Scar
American singer, songwriter, actress, and producer, Selena Gomez has shown off her kidney transplant scar on her Instagram page.
The music star posted photos of herself and her friend, Francia Raísa, laying in their hospital beds along with a glimpse at the scar that extended across her stomach.
Recall that Gomez, who began her career as a child actor in the television series Barney and Friends, underwent a terrifying but life-saving kidney transplant procedure in 2017.
Following the surgery, Gomez had some complications, which was addressed with emergency action.
However, Gomez, in the post, opened up about how she has come to accept and embrace the scar on her thigh.
She wrote: “When I got my kidney transplant, I remember it being very difficult at first showing my scar. I didn’t want it to be in photos, so I wore things that would cover it up.
“Now, more than ever, I feel confident in who I am and what I went through…and I’m proud of that.” And as she congratulated Theresa Marie Mingus on creating the La’Mariette swimsuit line, Selena said she loves their message that “all bodies are beautiful.”
