Nigerian singer Seyi Vibez has deleted all his tweets about celebrity chef Hilda Baci following a formal legal demand from her lawyers.

On 14 August 2026, Seyi Vibez, whose real name is Afolabi Oluwaseyi Balogun, posted two statements on his verified X account.

In one, he wrote that “Na Hilda Baci BBL all una catalogue money dey go” and described her supporters and mother in disparaging terms. In another, he claimed he once ate food prepared by the celebrity chef given to him by music executive Dapper and that “the food almost kill me.”

The posts quickly gained millions of views, thousands of retweets and comments, and triggered a wave of online harassment directed at the Guinness World Record-holding chef.

On 15 August, the Lagos law firm Olaniwun Ajayi LP, acting on behalf of Hilda Effiong Bassey, issued a detailed demand letter. The lawyers described the statements as defamatory, malicious and false, and cited potential violations of Nigeria’s Cybercrimes Act.

They demanded the immediate and permanent deletion of the posts and any related content, a clear public apology and retraction across all of Seyi Vibez’s social media platforms, a call for his followers to stop further harassment, and a written undertaking within three days confirming he would cease any further unlawful publications about their client.

Seyi Vibez subsequently deleted the tweets. The move came amid a broader industry dispute involving his former label boss, Dapper. As of now, no public apology has been issued and neither party has released further statements.
