Afeez Oyetoro, veteran Nollywood actor and comic icon, fondly known as Saka, has opened up about a personal chapter from his past — revealing a surprising condition a woman once gave him before she would agree to marry him.
In an exclusive interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Saka got candid about his early struggles and the challenges he faced on his journey to finding love and building a career.
Reflecting on his bachelor days, the actor revealed he once approached a woman he was serious about with the intention of settling down. However, to his shock, the woman made an unexpected demand — she would only consider marriage if he owned two cars.
“I couldn’t afford that then,” Saka recalled, explaining how the demand clashed with his modest financial situation at the time. The condition ended the relationship and, according to him, served as a wake-up call about the material expectations often placed on love and commitment.

Beyond personal matters, Saka also used the platform to address a long-standing misconception about his involvement with telecommunications giant Etisalat. Contrary to public belief, he clarified that he was never an official brand ambassador for the company.
“A lot of people thought I was an ambassador to Etisalat. No. I didn’t have any formal or official arrangement,” he said. “I was just a model featured in their advertisements.”

His revelations have sparked conversation online, with many social media users finding the car requirement both amusing and excessive. Others praised Saka for his humility, perseverance, and for not compromising his values in the face of material pressure.
Saka’s story sheds light on the deeper struggles behind the smiles and laughter he brings to screens, and offers a sobering reminder of the unrealistic expectations that can sometimes hinder genuine relationships.
