Renowned Nigerian On-Air Personality (OAP) Tolu Oniru-Demuren, popularly known as Toolz, has fiercely defended the widow of late Nollywood actor Junior Pope (Jnr Pope) against an online critic who slammed the mother of three for moving on quickly.
The comment surfaced on X (formally known as Twitter), on Sunday, December 7, when a video showing Jennifer Achinonu, Jnr Pope’s widow, and fellow actress Mercy Johnson dressed elegantly.

Not all reactions were supportive as Obiasogu David, an X user, posted a scathing comment under a repost of the video, taunting Jennifer for seemingly “moving on” too quickly after her husband’s tragic death. In his exact words:
“She’s looking so stunning, casually handling an iPhone 17 Pro Max, and looking like she’s already moved on, barely 1 year after losing her husband and bearing the burden of raising three kid-boys. Dear men, do whatever you can not to d!e young, especially after newly marrying.”

The post quickly drew backlash for its callous tone with Toolz — a veteran broadcaster and advocate for women’s empowerment, clapping back at the troll saying: “‘Barely a year’ is actually 20 months. She should lock herself away and mourn forever? When it wouldn’t be unusual in this country for a man to have another wife within the same one year.”
