Yoruba actress Tayo Odueke, popularly known as Sikiratu Sindodo, has opened up about a harrowing near-death experience that left her in a coma and fighting for her life.

In a recent interview with Oyinmomo TV, the Nollywood star revealed she was initially treated for what appeared to be malaria or typhoid. Her condition, however, steadily worsened, leading to months of hospital visits.

“I was sick like someone who had malaria. Malaria/typhoid, that was it, and that was how it started gradually. From one hospital to another. I can’t remember how long it lasted. I think it lasted for months because I was in a coma and was given a 50/50 chance. My mum was even told to go home,” she recalled.

Sindodo described the ordeal as traumatic but credited her recovery to faith and prayers. Holding back tears, she reflected on God’s faithfulness.

God answered a lot of prayers in my life. God has been faithful because I don’t want to be emotional,” she said.

The actress did not disclose further details about the diagnosis but said the experience taught her to appreciate life and divine intervention.

A familiar face in Yoruba cinema, Sikiratu Sindodo joins a growing list of Nollywood actors who have spoken publicly about personal health challenges in recent years.
