Simi and Adekunle Gold Celebrate First Wedding Anniversary

Nigerian Afropop stars Simi and Adekunle Gold are celebrating their first wedding anniversary today. The couple took to Instagram this morning to tease and declare their love for each other.

Adekunle and Simi got married last year, after keeping their relationship away from the public eye for a while. The couple tied the knot at a very intimate event this time last year.

The couple released a music video following their wedding that showed them both in wedding clothes, dancing and having fun.

Simi revealed, in an interview with Ndani TV, that she met Adekunle Gold on Facebook. She said he was chasing her online.

Apparently, he had been listening to her music since the early days, when she was a gospel artiste. They first met in person when she performed in Bogobiri as an upcoming musician.

She said, “I first knew him as the Photoshop King. And when I first saw him, I remember thinking, ‘Oh, he’s so skinny'”

And now, years later, the two are celebrating their first anniversary and more in love than they have ever been. Since getting married, the two have remained lowkey, sometimes taking jabs at each other on social media.
