Popular Nigerian skitmaker and content creator Adesokan Adedeji Emmanuel, better known as Shank Comics, has issued a public clarification following an old tweet where he expressed admiration for embattled American music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The original post, which has since been deleted, drew widespread criticism online, owing to the fact that the music mogul has legal troubles involving serious allegations of sexual misconduct, assault, and racketeering.

Shank in his now deleted tweet with birth the backlash wrote: “What I admire about diddy is his perspective to the grind. His mind. The way it evolves. It’s crazy! That was his talent. The ability to change or adapt. He just got lost in the pursuit of power.”

The post quickly went viral with many accusing the comedian of insensitivity given the gravity of the accusations against Diddy, including a recently released Netflix documentary series, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, produced by 50 Cent, detailing the allegations.

Responding to the backlash, Shank admitting the post was a mistake clarified: “To clarify any misunderstanding: My post about Diddy was a misguided attempt at referencing a villain in a ‘movie’ and it was irresponsible. To be absolutely clear, I do not admire, support, or defend him in any way. The allegations against him are horrific, and he deserves every consequence that comes from them. What he’s been accused of (and convicted of) is unacceptable and has no place in our industry or anywhere else. Victims deserve justice. I’m committed to doing better and using my platform responsibly.”
Fans and critics have shared mixed reactions to the apology with some praising the skitmaker for owning up to the error, while others are like “You go explain tire”.
