Sophie Turner sues Joe Jonas for wrongful detainment of their kids

Sophie Turner has taken legal action against her estranged husband, Joe Jonas.

She accused him of holding their children’s passports hostage.

In the lawsuit filed on September 20, 2023, Turner called for the immediate return of their children.

She cited the international treaty, Hague Convention, which deals with child abduction across country lines.

Turner explained that she and Jonas had agreed to raise their two daughters, Willa and J.D., in England as their ‘forever home’ in December 2022, which led to the sale of their Miami property.

She also noted that Jonas had temporary custody of their daughters before the divorce papers were filed. This, she said is due to his greater availability for parenting compared to her grueling shooting schedule in the UK.

According to Turner, she learned about Jonas filing for divorce through social media. And when she approached him about taking the children back to England, he refused to return their passports and allow them to go with her.

The couple’s divorce filing on September 1, 2023, came as a shock to fans. This is because they had posted affectionate photos together just a week earlier.

Turner and Jonas met in 2016, got engaged in 2017, and had two wedding ceremonies, one in Las Vegas and another in Paris.

However, their marriage now appears to be unraveling.
