Spotify names Odumodu Blvck’s ‘Declan Rice’ 2nd global rap song of 2023
Odumodu Blvck‘s ‘Declan Rice’ has been named Spotify’s second global rap song of 2023.
The award-winning rapper is set to end the year on a high note, as Spotify has ranked Declan Rice as the second biggest global rap song of 2023.
The single, which was released in March 2023 as part of Odumodu’s mixtape Eziokwu, was a huge commercial success. ‘Declan Rice’ reached No. 1 on Apple Music Nigeria Top 100 and Spotify Nigeria Top 5.
The single, named after Arsenal FC and England midfielder Declan Rice, reached No. 8 on TurnTable Top 100. It also took home the award for Best Rap Single at the 2023 Headies.
The song has received over 16 million Spotify streams. It also received endorsements from Declan Rice and Arsenal Football Club, who recorded a version for the unveiling of the club’s most expensive signing.
Declan Rice was ranked second on Spotify’s global to rap songs for 2023, alongside Sprinter by British superstars Central C & Dave and J Hus’ Who Told You ft. Drake.
