Natacha Akide, former Big Brother Naija housemate, popularly known as Tacha, has reflected on her journey after being disqualified from the 2019 edition of the reality show.

Tacha, who was a contestant in the “Pepper Dem” season, spoke during a recent appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast. She revisited her experience on the show, her exit, and how the public reacted to the controversial moment.

The reality star recalled how her disqualification became one of the most talked-about events of the season. According to her, some people went to extreme lengths to celebrate her removal from the house.

Different names have been given to me. I got disqualified from the reality show, and people even went as far as killing goats and celebrating because I was out,” she said.

Tacha’s journey on the show came to an abrupt end after a heated clash with fellow housemate, Mercy Eke. The confrontation eventually led to her disqualification, while Mercy went on to win the season.

She explained that the incident did not only mark a turning point in her life but also shaped how many Nigerians saw her. The reactions, according to her, were deeply divided, with some fans supporting her and others criticising her openly.

Away from her Big Brother Naija experience, Tacha also used the podcast to share some of her struggles while living abroad. She revealed that her stay in the United Kingdom came with significant financial challenges.

The reality star disclosed that she paid as much as £5,000 monthly for rent in a highbrow area. She noted that the cost of living in the UK was overwhelming, especially for young people who had to work multiple jobs to survive.

Before you sleep and wake up, 30 days have passed already, and you start calculating again,” she explained.

Tacha said the financial strain often made it difficult for her to connect with friends who were constantly busy trying to meet their daily needs.
