Nollywood actress Tope Osoba has been laid to rest in Ogun State after a burial service on Thursday.
Recall that Osoba, whose full name is Osoba Temitope Kofoworola, died in 2026 at the age of 40. Her death came almost two years after she had breast cancer surgery in November 2024.
A few days after her passing, the family chose August 13, 2026, for the burial, following a candlelight procession and tribute night on August 11. The family later postponed the burial because they needed more time to make arrangements and resolve some issues.
On Thursday, Osoba’s body was taken from Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu to Akesan Club in Iperu Remo for her burial service.
She was later buried at Iperu Remo Cemetery, with several Nollywood entertainers in attendance, including Foluke Daramola, Kunle Afolayan, Joke Jigan, and Basira Badia.
After news of Osoba’s death, some online reports suggested she died from emotional distress rather than cancer. There were also allegations that her fiancé, Itunu Onadeko, and his family mistreated her during her illness.
The Celestial Church of Christ, where Onadeko serves as a shepherd, recently announced it has begun an internal investigation into the actress’s death.
