Temilade Openiyi, a Grammy award winner better known as Tems, has received Spotify’s Billion plaque after her collaborative hit with Future and Drake, ‘Wait For U’, surpassed 1 billion streams on the platform.
She now joins Wizkid, Rema, and Tyla as one of the Afrobeats artists with Spotify’s Billion-Plays.
‘Wait For U’ gave Tems her first Grammy plaque after winning the Best Melodic Rap category in 2023.

The song also made Tems the first African artist to debut at number 1 on Billboard Hot 100 in 2022.
