Teni the entertainer runs off stage at rivers event

Nigerian singer, Teniola Akpata, simply known as Teni, stopped performing and ran for her life at an event in Rivers state.

In a viral video, the entertainer who was performing one of her hit singles – Power Rangers, was seen being ushered to the back of the stage before sounds of gunshots disrupted the show, causing people to disperse.

Teni is known for her afropop hit “Millionaire” and “Uyo Meyo”. She was allegedly performing her top single “Hustle” off her most recent album, when the incident happened in Port Harcourt.

Teni was also featured to perform at the “Rich and Famous” night in Owerri on December 30,2021. She posted the event on her official platform.

An eyewitness identified simply as Mayor, claimed that the attack resulted in many people being rushed to the hospital due to a stampede that ensued after.

The tweep further claimed that some unidentified people tried to abduct Teni while performing on stage. This then informed the need for her bouncers to fire some gunshots into the air.  The witness wrote,

“I was there and it was a mess!!!! People were rushed to the clinic because of the stampede.”

When asked by another Twitter user if they tried to abduct Teni, Mayor said,

“Yes and that’s when her bouncers started shooting everywhere!!! Not just towards the sky but everywhere. It was horrible. I just feel bad for her.”
