Popular Nigerian medical personality Dr Sina has publicly criticised award-winning video director TG Omori for sharing a photo of himself holding what appears to be weed, despite his well-documented kidney health struggles.
The call-out showed a picture of Omori in a green “Team Mexico” jersey and black shorts, holding the weed. Dr. Sina who found everything wrong with the picture, warned: “Someone who had a kidney issue and got kidney transplant should not be smoking. Smoking destroys the kidneys.”

TG Omori whose real name is ThankGod Omori Jesam, born in 1995, is one of Nigeria’s most sought-after music video directors, known for his cinematic visuals for artists like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Asake, and Olamide. His health crisis emerged in 2024 when he revealed severe kidney failure, allegedly linked to adulterated drinks. In August 2024, his brother donated a kidney for a transplant at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos. Sadly, the transplant failed, leading to multiple surgeries, ongoing treatments, and significant financial and emotional strain.
Omori had previously announced quitting smoking and described kidney failure as “one of the worst things” anyone could experience. The recent photo has sparked mixed reactions online, with many urging the director to prioritise his health after receiving a second chance at life.
