Afrobeats star Davido has criticised former Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, describing his recent social media post as “a shame” after the comments section filled with sharp backlash.
On Thursday, Oyetola, now Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, posted a welcome message to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Governors Hope Uzodinma, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Uba Sani and other APC leaders arriving in Osun for the party’s governorship campaign mega rally in Osogbo.
The rally is part of the APC’s push ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election, where the party’s candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, is challenging incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party.

Davido quote-tweeted the post, writing: “The comment section says a lot, Former Governor it’s a shame!”
Many replies under Oyetola’s post accused the APC of planning to rig the election, labelled party leaders “criminals” and “thieves,” and urged Osun residents to defend their votes. Some users called for peaceful polls while others warned against intimidation and referenced past grievances with the APC.
The exchange highlights rising tensions in the closely watched Osun race. Davido, a nephew of Governor Adeleke, has previously criticised Oyetola online amid the intense political contest between the Adeleke and Oyetola camps.
