Controversial Nigerian activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has dropped a sarcastic video directly addressing critics questioning his NGO’s finances.

In the clip, VDM mockingly declares: “The NGO now has a call number, let me take you all to the call center. I had to take ₦100 million from the NGO money and invest it in treasury bills so I can use the profit to pay our staff. When you get scammed or your community doesn’t have water, or maybe you’re being oppressed, you call this number……”

The video serves as a clap back to critics who argue that, despite the massive inflows, large-scale projects have been slower than expected. The backlash went further with fingers pointing at the hundreds of millions of naira the organisation has collected as donations, including a high-profile ₦100 million donation from Don Jazzy and another from Afrobeats star Burna Boy.

VDM, on his part, has repeatedly defended the NGO by publishing bank statements and expenditure updates, insisting funds are being prudently managed, including investments for long-term sustainability. Launched in late 2024, MVOI focuses on education reform, clean water provision, and community development.
