They’re a Tad Harsh- Frank Edoho Slams Nigerian Idol judges

Nigerian TV host, Frank Edoho has slammed judges of the sixth edition of music competition, Nigerian idol describing them as “harsh”

His comment follows the criticism trailing singer Seyi Shay, one of the show’s judges for ridiculing a 17-year-old contestant.

The singer while giving her verdict told the teenage singer that he had no business in the music industry because he is a “terrible” performer. She also said that he will do well as a songwriter, not a singer.

“I am laughing because I can’t just believe what I just heard. Who told you to come (to) the show’s audition? You should go back and tell them they’re not your friends. That was not a good one. You have a sweet, token voice but your performance is terrible. You’re never going to make money being a singer,” she said.

Social media users were quick to push back against and condemn the singer’s comments.

Among those who reacted to the her comment was Frank Edoho who tweeted: “I think the judges of Nigerian Idol should be calming down. They are a tad harsh. #nigerianidol,”

The popular music reality show, Nigerian Idol, an offshoot of the Idol franchise, made its comeback after a six-year hiatus.
