President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas has raised concerns about what he called a conspiracy around the guild’s forthcoming national election.
Rollas, in a post on Instagram on Wednesday, shared a photo of himself with a caption hinting that some former leaders of the guild were behind the move.
His post read: “I laugh aloud on the conspiracy surrounding the upcoming AGN National Elections! How a former National President who didn’t leave a pin behind for the Guild is clamouring for the probe of a government that has proved everybody wrong! Things are happening oh @actorsguildofnigeria.”
eelive.ng reports that the AGN national election is expected to hold in December. In August, Rollas inaugurated a seven-man electoral committee, headed by veteran actor Steve Eboh, to conduct the exercise.

Rollas, who took over leadership of the guild in 2017 after defeating Emeka Ike, is completing his final year in office. He has said he will hand over to the ninth president of the guild after the December poll.

Past presidents of the AGN include Zack Orji, Ejike Asiegbu, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Segun Arinze and Ibinabo Fiberesima.
Rollas has faced some controversies in recent years. In January, there were reports that he was arrested in Abia State during a crisis involving the state chapter of the guild. He later denied the report, saying he was only invited by the police for questioning.
In 2024, actress Halima Abubakar also threatened to sue him and the guild for N3 billion over alleged defamation.
