Nigerian singer Abiola Ahmed Akinbiyi popularly known as Bella Shmurda has firmly dismissed viral claims that he lost $4 million in a Lagos property scam, describing the reports as fake news.
The artist addressed the controversy directly through his social media platforms, urging fans to verify information before sharing.
Reacting to the widespread reports, he expressed disbelief, with messages like “$4m ke? This country no go sleep if it happened”.

Just days earlier, on July 15, clips from Shmurda’s Instagram Live session circulated widely. In the clip, he alleged purchasing a Lagos property only to discover it had been sold to him fraudulently.

The singer shared that the seller vanished after payment and that the significant sum represented years of hard work in the music industry. He mentioned consulting his lawyer and appealed for support from fans and the public.
The moment was however, reported based on the livestream, noting that the claims had not been independently verified by authorities and no specific details about the property or seller were provided.
