Three brothers have been arraigned on a murder charge in Eswatini over the alleged killing of their mother’s boyfriend, whom they reportedly accused of being romantically involved with her.
The suspects, identified as Mlondi Mbuli, 25, Sakhelwe Mbuli, 18, and Lindani Mdziniso, 23, appeared before the Mbabane Magistrates Court following the incident, which allegedly took place on June 28 in Hholoshini, in the country’s Hhohho Region.

The court ordered that the three men remain in custody until July 10 while prosecutors prepare to move the case to the High Court, where murder trials are handled under Eswatini’s legal system.
Investigators allege that the victim, Njabulo Ngwenya, was violently assaulted with bricks, stones and sticks, and was also repeatedly punched and kicked.
He is said to have died from the injuries sustained during the attack.

According to police, the alleged assault was motivated by claims that Ngwenya was in a relationship with the brothers’ biological mother.
The incident was reported after the victim’s mother, Sibongile Motsa, discovered her son’s body inside her sister’s house at about 1 a.m. on June 28. She immediately alerted the Royal Eswatini Police Service, which launched an investigation that led to the arrest of the three suspects.
After making their first court appearance, the accused were remanded in custody pending further proceedings and the formal transfer of the case to the High Court.
Authorities have yet to release additional details beyond the information presented during the initial court hearing.
