Timi Dakolo Lands His First Feature on UK Newspaper

Nigerian R&B singer, Timi Dakolo has just landed his first feature on a UK Newspaper. The singer has had quite the year. After going through a rough time with his family for the most of 2019, the singer is completely on top of his game.

First he signed a deal with international record label “Virgin EMI”. Then he released his recent single, “Merry Christmas Darling” featuring top British act, Emeli Sande. To cap it all off, “The Times Uk” just acknowledged Timi Dakolo for his recent album.

The singer took to his Instagram page, to unveil the centre spread of The Times, where he was interviewed. He wrote: “Thank you @thetimes for the Feature and boom I got the centre spread.”

However, Grammy- winning producer Humberto Gacita who co-produced Dakolo’s UK debut album Merry Christmas Darling described the singer as “the golden voice of Africa.”

Timi Dakolo shot to fame when he emerged winner of the inaugural season of Idol West Africa in 20017. He released his debut album, Beautiful Noise in 2011.

The talented singer has been able to stay relevant with singles like “Iyawo Mi” which he dedicated to his wife in 2014. His other singles include- “Wish me well”, “The Vow”, “Medicine” and “I Never Know Say”. Meanwhile, his UK debut album will make it the first he has released in eight years.
