Tope Oshin Turns 40, says: I am Just Grateful!

Today, Monday June 10, 2019, Temitope Oshin, arguable one of Nigeria’s most sought-after director turns 40. As someone who has had a stamp on some of the most talked about productions on television and cinemas including Tinsel, Fifty, The Apprentice, Shuga, Wedding Party 1 amongst others, Ms Oshin looks back and says she has nothing but gratitude for how far she has come in this interview with eelive.ng. We are eelive.ng wish this pride of Africa and womanhood a phenomenal celebration and greater years ahead.

Congratulations on your 40th birthday. Looking back, what are some of the things that you are most grateful for?

I’m grateful for choosing a peaceful life. I’m grateful for my children. I’m grateful for the trajectory of my life. I’m grateful for the woman I am.

Any regrets or things you thought you could have done differently?

At this point in my life, no regrets. Everything that has happened in my life so far, has shaped my life to what it is today.

How do you plan to celebrate your birthday?

The most important way I am celebrating this birthday is by giving back to upcoming filmmakers, with a focus on women for now. I’m holding a filmmaking workshop to teach, guide and hold conversations with upcoming filmmakers, about the best practices of filmmaking, their careers, work and questions. Also spending the day with my core family – my children, nieces and siblings.

They say life starts at 40, will there be a shift in the outlook to life?

To that I think I turned 40 slowly from 38. lol. The shift in mindset started for me about a year plus ago…to relax more…smell the roses…be kinder to myself…let things go…love and take care of myself more…enjoy every moment and take the memories as your gift…learn from everything…regret nothing.

What would you like to say to lovers of yours on a day like this?

Thank you for your love and kindness. I appreciate you.

Professionally, is there anything we coming soon?

Currently show running and producing the next season of MTV Shuga Naija, and after that, I have two films lined up to direct this second half of 2019 and developing 2 more stories for production in 2020.
