Juma Jux x Priscilla Ojo

The marriage between Tanzanian singer Juma Jux and Priscilla Ojo, daughter of Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo, has sparked a unique reaction on social media.

Nigerians have taken to Juma Jux’s TikTok page to offer congratulations and advice, with many issuing stern warnings to treat his new wife with care and respect.

The comments followed Priscilla and Juma Jux’s grand traditional and white wedding ceremony in Lagos, which was attended by numerous celebrities from the entertainment industry. While congratulating the couple on their union, some Nigerians felt compelled to caution Juma Jux about his responsibilities as a husband.

Content creator, actor and skit maker Abdulgafar Ahmad Oluwatoyin, aka Cute Abiola, issued the first warning to the  Tanzanian singer. He wrote: “The way everybody is respecting you that Juma, our Tanzanian husband, let it be like that, please I know you are good man, but please, it is not a threat, just make sure our daughter keeps shining, Nigerians them no well, I pray this is your first wedding, it will be your last.”

One user, Mama Lizzy, warned Juma Jux that Nigerians are always watching and would scrutinize his actions towards Priscilla. “Nigerians don’t have joy,” she said, implying that they would be eagerly awaiting any signs of trouble in the marriage. Mama Lizzy’s comment was a veiled threat, suggesting that Juma Jux would face consequences if he fails to treat Priscilla well.

Other users, such as Utonwa, made similar warnings, drawing parallels between Juma Jux’s marriage and national issues. Utonwa’s comment, “If Priscilla is sad, you’ll know why peace and unity were removed from the Nigerian national anthem,” was a cryptic threat that highlighted the passion and intensity of Nigerian fans.

A fan also reminded Juma Jux that Priscilla introduced him to Nigerians, appealing to him to take good care of his wife. This comment highlighted the significant role Priscilla played in promoting Juma Jux’s music in Nigeria.
