Tyga arrested for allegedly assaulting ex-girlfriend

American rapper, Tyga has been arrested for allegedly hitting his ex-girlfriend, Camaryn Swanson.

According to reports, the rapper turned himself in to the police on Tuesday, Oct. 12. He was charged with felony domestic violence and later released on $50,000 bail.

A Los Angeles Police Department representative confirmed the arrest, saying,  “Michael Stevenson (Tyga) went to Hollywood Div around 9am where he was arrested and booked for felony domestic violence, 273.5 A PC. Bail is $50,000. The domestic violence incident occurred on 10/11/21. Due to confidentiality, no information regarding the victim is being released.”

On Monday, Camaryn Swanson accused Tyga of hitting her. She took to her Instagram stories to share photos and videos in which she has a large bruise near her eye. Accompanying the posts, Swanson wrote, “I’ve been emotionally, mentally, and physically abused and I’m not hiding it anymore.” She also wrote, “I’m so embarrassed and ashamed it had to get to this but I have to stand up for myself.”

According to TMZ, Camaryn visited Tyga at his home in the early hours of the morning. There was some yelling and an alleged altercation between the former couple before she left. She called the police after her mother picked her up from Tyga’s home following the incident. The responding officers also saw “visible marks” on her body and decided to take a report.
