Tyler Perry Confirms Split with Longtime Partner

Hollywood filmmaker, Tyler Perry, in his latest post on social media, confirmed splitting with his longtime partner, Gelila Bekele.

In the post in which he disclosed that he’s now single and going through a “midlife crisis”, Perry said he’s making efforts to figure out the next chapter of his life.

Accompanying the post with a thirst trap photo of himself, the multi-award winning screenwriter, producer, and actor, shared that he’s optimistic about what the future holds.

“This is what a midlife crisis looks like. I’m 51, single and wondering what the next chapter in my life will look like.

“Whatever it looks like I’m going to walk with God, be the best father and man I can be, hold my head up high, and try to look my best doing it!! In a world with so much sadness, please try and stay in the good!

“Merry Christmas and let’s look forward to 2021 bringing us peace!” he wrote.

Although Perry seems to just want to send a transparent, positive message, the responses he received were a blend of encouragement, as well as women looking to shoot their shot with him.

For a brief period, Perry dated American actor Tasha Smith, after which he moved on with Bekele, who’s an Ethiopian Model.

Since 2007 that Bekele and Perry have been exploring a romantic relationship, they’ve both been in and off association.

Their relationship however produced a child –Aman, who was welcomed in 2014.
