Tyrese Gibson Blames Failed Marriage on Attacks on Black Families

American music star, Tyrese Gibson has blamed his failed marriage with Samantha, on attacks on Black families.

In a joint statement in which the pair announced that they’ve resolved to going their separate ways after more than three years of marriage, Tyrese said: “Black families and marriages are under attack. I’ve wrestled with this question.”

“How can we naturally know how to BE something we never raised by?” the singer cum actor further queried.

Writing alongside a video montage of family memories with Samantha and their daughter Soraya, Tyrese continued: “Most of us were raised in broken homes with NO examples of what being a husband, wife or FATHER is.

“I repeat. How can we naturally know how to BE something we were never raised by? I pray we leave the door open because the God that we serve is a mountains mover and can make a way out of now way.”

Tyrese however assured that he and Samantha, whom he met in 2015, will “remain the best of friends and strong co-parents. We feel incredibly blessed to have found each other and deeply grateful for the [nearly] four years we have been married to each other. 

“Our journey together has been a ride of both ups and downs, but it’s a journey that neither of us would have chosen to take with anyone else.”

Samantha’s marriage with Tyrese was the second of the Fast and Furious actor. He was previously married to Norma Gibson from 2007 to 2009.

Samantha and Tyrese, who tied the knot in 2017 (eight years after the failed marriage of the latter), share a child -Soraya. Tyrese is also the father of 13-year-old daughter Shayla from a previous relationship.
